New electricity tariff introduced; Consumers consuming a minimum of 10 units of electricity per month would get energy fare free of cost

Consumers consuming a minimum of 10 units of electricity per month would get energy fare free of cost after the Electricity Regulatory Commission proposed a new electricity tariff rate.

Similarly, the electricity tariff of consumers consuming more than 10 units has been reduced up to 10 percent.

Tariff of dedicated and trunk line has been scrapped. Electricity tariff of Industrial, business and non-business consumers would be less up to 65 percent.

The demand tariff of consumers of community drinking water and irrigation class has been completely removed while the energy tariff of consumers of community drinking water has been determined as Rs 4.20 from Rs 5.20.

Tariff of community drinking water consumers of 11 KV has been determined at Rs 3.40 during the night. Tariff of drinking water consumers would be decreased up to 40-50 percent on average. The charge of charging stations has been made very cheap to encourage the use of electric vehicles. The energy tariff of 11 KV from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am has been determined as Rs 4.20.

Likewise, the energy tariff of community consumers has been decreased by 31 percent which is Rs 3.
