NESPE MAKES UPHILL BATTLE TO SURPASS RECORD, SET TWO WEEKS BACK

Countering the heavy selling pressure, the market index came up top at the end of the day to surpass the six months high record set two weeks back-- i. e. 552.17 levels on 27th Aug, 2013. The local bourse today made a late recovery of 0.33 points to reach the pinnacle of 552.34 levels.

Underpinned by the yesterday’s market sentiment, the market index continued its rally near to the level of 555 levels, however, the rush of investors to book their profit obtained from the yesterday’s spectacular bullish rally of banking scrips, topple the market below yesterday’s closing level.

But the last minute recovery helped the benchmark index to sustain over the yesterday’s closing.

Among sub-indices, Banking came to make a correction of 0.58 points followed by a 5.87 point drop of Others sector. While, Manufacturing remained intact at 884.02 levels.

Whereas, Insurance made a healthy climb of 18.02 points alongside 9.5 points surge of Hydro, 4.15 points leap of Hotels, 3.36 points incline of Development and 0.12 points advance of Finance sector.

All in all, 104 scrips were traded, out of which 55 scrips gained, 14 remained intact and 35 scrips lost.

Continuing its yesterday’s form, Chilime Hydropower Co. Ltd. (CHCL), closed at Rs 1586, made the highest turnover today also. As the book closure date for the company’s 30 percent bonus share and 10 percent is on 13th September, this script has become one of the lucrative scrips among the investors, making it one of the most active scrips in the market.

Altogether, 19,800 units of shares were traded through 142 transactions worth Rs 31,547,489. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of CHCL was Broker No 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) with 16.06%; amounting Rs 10,135,874 via 18 transactions totaling  6,363 units which include 3 matching transactions tallying  1,930 units worth Rs 3,072,088.

Along with CHCL, Nabil Bank Limited (NABIL), closed at Rs 1965, Mega Bank Limited (MEGA), closed at Rs 181, and Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited  (NTC), closed at Rs 565, also had a hefty turnover amounting over Rs 100 million.

NABIL had transactions of 8,448 unit shares worth Rs 16,930,971 while Mega had shares trade of 63,530 units worth Rs 11,463,333 and NTC had transactions of 18,025 units worth Rs 10,305,525.

The share with the highest gain in today’s session was, Nerude Laghubita Bikas Bank Limited (NLBBL), closed at Rs 676, with Rs 61 or 9.92 percent growth. Whereas, Shine Resunga Development Bank Ltd. (SHINE), closed at Rs 195, was the worst performer for the day with a loss of Rs 21 or 9.72 percent.

Overall, 636,609 units of shares were traded by 2,350 transactions with total turnover worth Rs 186,800,870; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 554,364.93 million.
