Nepse Wrap up (Review period 9th June to 13th June, 2013)

The trend of Nepse low movement continued this week also as the market fluctuated between the range of 498.35 to 494.34 levels only. The lack of participation in the market lowered the volatility of the index; for most of the trading day, the local bourse traded within the one point range only. Apart from it, the benchmark index showed no sign of retaliation as the index progressed in a downward spiral with the loss of 0.96, 1.59, 0.26, 0.20 and 1 point respectively. The market by the end of the week plunged by 4.01 points to closed at 494.34 levels.
As for the movement of sub-indices this week, Hotels sector made the highest gain of 21.67 points followed by Finance with a 3.96 points surge.. While, Others made a hefty loss of 11.75 points followed by Hydro, Banking, and Insurance with the loss of 7.15, 4.81 and 3.42 points respectively. Similarly, the Development sub - group also plunged by 0.74 points.
Overall, there were only 119 scrips traded among which 42 scrips increased 10 remained intact and 67 scrips decreased. In terms of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10.17, topped with 277,907 units whereas among the ordinary scrips trading above par, Commerz and Trust Bank Nepal Ltd. (CTBNL), closed at Rs 144, topped with 99,266 units. As for highest transaction also, CTBNL topped with 863 transactions.
In case of highest turnover, Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIC), closed at Rs 1060, topped with 27,822 units worth Rs 30,492,440 via 124 transactions; in which Broker no 32 (Premier Securities Company Limited) was the most active Broker with 62.47% stand alone dealing of SIC, tallying 36,238 units worth Rs 38,100,270 via 16 transactions in which includes 3 matching transaction totaling 17,844 units worth Rs 18,744,530.
Overall 1,180,523 units of shares were traded via 5,175 transactions worth Rs 294,491,777. The total market capitalization at the end of the review period was Rs 489,743.26 million.
