Nepse Wrap up (Review period 29th June to 3rd July, 2014)

The Nepse index rallied throughout this week leading to nearly six years high. By the end of week, the market index gained 36.54 points to settle at 972.85 level.
“The back to back rallies have boosted the market confidence to new height which have attracted more crowds in the market,” says one of the brokers.
As market is nearing towards its previous high of 1175 level, more and more people are now starting to entry into the market which is propelling the market like never before.
Leaving the turnover of Rs 496 million on Monday, the market turnover for rest of the trading days remained over Rs 500 million mark. The total turnover stood at Rs 3.21 billion which is nearly 50 percent higher than prior week’s volume.
In addition, the anticipation of heavy investment by banking and financial institutions post fiscal year end has also drawn more traders and investors towards insurance and hydro scrips this week. Around 45 percent of the total turnover of the market was covered by these two sectors.
Similarly, both sub-indices had remarkable bull run this week as both made a superb rally of 417.46 points and 257.88 points respectively.
Alongside them, Banking, Development and Finance also added 16.87 points, 27.58 points and 46.42 points respectively.
While, Others and Hotels suffered loss of 5.87 points and 20.40 points respectively.
In case of, Sensitive index, which measures the movement of blue chip companies, it increased by 6.91 points to settle at 207.81 level. Likewise, Float index, which measures the movement of ordinary shares only, climbed 2.79 points to settle at 68.23 level.
All in all, 171 scrips were traded , out of which 125 scrips gained, eight scrips remained intact and 37 scrips suffered loss.
The company with highest turnover this week was Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 2642. Altogether, 115,609 share units worth Rs 294,512,328 were traded through 863 transactions.
The Broker with the highest transaction of CHCL was Broker No 10 (Pragyan Securities Pvt. Limited) with 8.03 percent standalone dealing, totaling 18,595 units worth Rs 47,328,286 via 129 transactions, which include 24 matching transactions tallying 2,570 units worth Rs 6,553,450.
The best performer this week among the ordinary traded scrips was Everest Insurance Co. Ltd. (EICL), closed at Rs 1034, with a gain of Rs 390 or 60.56 percent. Whereas, Citizen Investment Trust (CIT), closed at Rs 3770, was the worst performer with a decline of Rs 830 or 18.04 percent.
