ShareSansar, 6th September

More investors flooded in the market to book their profit this week also, dragging the local bourse by 4.88 points in progress. The local bourse at the end of the week came to close at 546.49 levels

With the slackness in the upward movement of Nepse, the investors who have been holding the shares from the level of 510 are currently rushing to capitalize their position which has attributed to high selling pressure in the market.

However, citing the dividend declaration season in the market, the presence of buyers in the market is also immense in number which has kept the market highly liquid.

Both the over crowd of buyers and sellers in the market propelled this week’s total turnover by further 7.27 per cent to stand at Rs 954.45 million. The daily average turnover for the week stood at 190.89 million. Altogether, 2,999,274 units of shares were traded by 9,400 transactions.

Further, block transaction of 2,914,012 units of Nepal Bangladesh Bank promoter share worth Rs 757,643,120 at the rate of Rs 260 was carried out on Sunday. Acting upon the agreement reached between the NBB and Bangladesh based IFIC Bank, NB groups’ shares were formally transferred to the IFIC bank through the block transfer provision in Nepse.

Such hefty transaction of NBB helped the day’s turnover to surpass over one billion rupee for the first time in the long history of Nepse. But, the Nepse hasn’t considered such block transaction amount in their daily turnover amount.

Including all the block transactions and other general trading of this week, the market turnover comes to stand at the mammoth amount of Rs 2.097 billion which were carried out by 9528 transactions totaling 6,289,796 units. Apart from Nepal Bangladesh Bank promoter share, NABIL Bank Limited Promoter Shares were also carried out through block transactions.
