Nepse Wrap up (Review period 12th Jan to 16th Jan, 2014)

Making an upbeat performance, the stock index further propelled by 24.88 points this week to close at 797.64 levels.
Attributed by the recent political development of Constituent Assembly meeting, the market observed consecutive Bull Run throughout the week.
The decision to summon the first CA meeting as on January 22, by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi, was made after the compromise was reached between the head of state and the executive head on January 11.
Following this decision, the market witnessed an increase in the demand of the listed shares throughout the week.
Mostly, investors were found to accumulate the shares of Insurance sector as the sub indices surged by 100.79 points. Similarly, Hydro and Hotels also observed triple digit growth of 107.84 and 108.74 points respectively.
Likewise, high demand of Banking and Financial Institutions shares were also witnessed this week as Banking came to add 17.32 points to its tally. Along with it, Development and Finance also gained healthy 23.06 and 5.16 points respectively.
As for Others it also inclined by double digit figure of 10.57 points and Trading increased by 1.86 points.
In case of, Sensitive index, which measures the movement of blue chip companies, it inclined by 4.46 points to settle at 176.66 levels. Likewise, Float index, which measures the movement of ordinary shares only, also advanced by 1.16 points to settle at 53 levels.
All in all, the 137 scrips were traded this week, out of which 88 scrips gained, 15 remained intact and 34 scrips lost.
The best performer this week among the traded scrips was Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd. (SICL), closed at Rs 1035, with a gain of Rs 254 or 32.52 percent. Whereas, Araniko Development Bank Limited (ARDBL), closed at Rs 113, was the worst performer among all with a decline of Rs 18 or 13.74 percent.
The scrip with the highest turnover was Kumari Bank Ltd (KBL), closed at 582, with 288,080 units worth Rs 160,584,127 which was carried out by 568 transactions.
The total turnover of the market for this week stood at Rs 1,548,100,809 totaling 3,162,414 share units which were traded through 9,813 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the week tallied at 807,218.54
