NEPSE WITNESS LOSS OF 0.35 POINTS

The market witnessed a loss of 0.35 points to close at 498.46 levels today. The lack of confidence among investors has again led the market to retrieve back to bearish zone. Subsequently after the few minutes of trade, the local bourse failed to sustain the yesterday’s ground and started to tumble, as the presence of seller started to increase. Though the market index came down to the level of 497.34, the improvement in the price level of banking scrips helped to narrow the loss.
Among the sub-indices, Insurance made a huge stumble by 7.88 points followed by Others with a loss of 2.35 points. Similarly, Banking declined by 0.81 points along with a Development decrease of 0.68 points and Finance plunge of 0.12 points. Whereas, Hotels sector today made climb of 2.27 points and Hydro surged by 2.9 points. As for the Manufacturing sub - group, it gained 0.72 points.
Overall there were trades of 94 scrips among which 34 scrips increased 22 remained intact and 38 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Western Development Bank Limited (WDBL), closed at Rs 70, with Rs 6 or 9.38% gain. Among the shares trading above par, Nepal Credit And Com. Bank (NCCB), closed at Rs 222, was the top gainer with Rs 12 or 5.71%. Whereas, Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIC), closed at Rs 1305, was the worst performer with Rs 145 or 10% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1) , closed at Rs 10.42, topped with 38,056 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), closed at Rs 292, topped with 17,623 units. In terms of turnover, Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), closed at Rs 598, topped with 14,343 units worth Rs 8,590,314 via 48 transactions. The most active Broker with the highest stand-alone dealing of BOK was Broker no 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) with 35.45%, tallying 10,150 units worth Rs 6,090,010 via 4 transactions which includes one matching transaction of 5,000 units worth Rs 3,000,000.
Altogether there were trade of 223,054 units of share via 1,002 transactions worth Rs 56,600,298; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 493,891.33 Millions.
