NEPSE WITNESS DOWNFALL TODAY

Following a consecutive eight days of rally, the market today came to witness a downfall of 4.94 points to close at 790.32 levels.
The profit taking from the investors today formulated an immense selling pressure from the opening hour to the end. Contrary to yesterday scenario, the market today failed to overcome the selling pressure attributing to bearish movement for the entire day.
Capitalizing on the prior day’s rally, the investors liquidated mostly banking and insurance scrips today. The profit booking in these scrips diluted both banking and insurance sub-indices by 9.88 and 19.29 points respectively.
Similarly, another sub-index to witness double digit plunge was Hotels as it dropped by 10.62 points. Alongside it, Hydro also came to suffer a loss of 3.65 points respectively.
Meanwhile, Manufacturing added 10.69 points to its tally, following it, Other inclined by 5.87 points. Likewise, Development and Finance maintained its gaining streak with 2.93 and 2.16 point increment respectively.
Altogether there were trade of 120 scrips, among which 53 scrips gained, 8 scrips remained intact and 59 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded scrips was Kamana Bikas Bank Limited (KMBL), closed at Rs 244, with a gain of Rs 22 or 9.91 percent. Whereas, Lumbini General Insurance (LGI), closed at Rs 250, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 102 or 28.98 percent.
The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was Agricultural Development Bank Ltd (ADBL), closed at Rs 500, with trade worth Rs 41,133,902 totaling 81646 units which were traded through 369 transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 321,253,910 with total number of shares traded at 668,783 units which were traded through 2,917 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 802,904.68 Millions.
