NEPSE WITNESS CORRECTION

After four days of consecutive rally, the only secondary market of Nepal today witnessed correction of 2.38 points. The benchmark index coming to the end of the day still managed to hover above 800 mark as it settle at 800.58 level.
Following its prior transition, the market observed growth in the initial phase of the trading. Boosted by the buying sentiment in hydro and insurance sectors’ scrips, the local bourse came to propel near to 808 level.
Later, however, the profit booking sentiment in these sectors’ shares along with banking scrips dragged the market down towards the red corner.
Hydro and Insurance sector, which had observed incline in initial hour, suffered a loss of 27.53 points and 34.26 points respectively. Similarly, Banking sector too, experienced the same faith as it dropped by 0.32 points.
Hotels was another sector to suffer hefty blow today as it declined by double digit figure of 37.14 points. Likewise, Others tumbled by 1.17 points and Development decreased by meager 0.09 points. As for Finance, it gained 0.65 points; alongside it, Manufacturing too witness incline of 2.33 points.
Altogether there were trade of 129 scrips, among which 50 scrips gained, 16 scrips remained intact and 63 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded shares was Himalayan Distillery Ltd. (HDL), closed Rs 110, with a gain of Rs 10 or 10 percent. Whereas, Namaste Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (NBSL), closed at Rs 304, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 22 or 6.75 percent.
Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), which closed at Rs 1880, had the highest turnover among the traded scrips today. Overall, 39,116 units of CHCL were traded through 276 transactions worth Rs 75,550,345.
The Broker with the highest transaction of CHCL was Broker No 42 (Sani Securities Co. Ltd.) with 11.90 percent standalone dealing, totaling 9,323 units worth Rs 17,988,786 via 25 transactions, which includes one matching transaction of 2476 units worth Rs 4,766,300.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 360,007,486, with total number of shares traded at 778,049 units which were traded through 2,376 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 816,121.04 Millions.
