NEPSE WITNESS 52 MONTHS’ HIGH CORRECTION

Continuing its correction transition of yesterday, the stock index today observed massive downfall of 26.47 points which is more than 4 years high. Last time market witnessed such a mammoth decline in one day was back in 9th August, 2009; during which market plunged by 27.42 points. The market today closed at 768.72 levels.

With the witness of downfall in the Nepse, more investors are now liquidating their position to capitalize in current height rather than waiting for a new string of bullish movement. Attributed by such profit booking sentiment, the market came to drop by more than 2 percent today.

Like yesterday, the investors today also continued to book their earning from banking scrips. Following such scenario, the Banking sector along with Development descended by 38.26  and 4.03 points respectively.

Likewise, Others also made a sharp correction today as it declined by 38.76 points; alongside others, Hydro also made the double digit plunge of 29.52 points and Hotels suffered a loss of 6.06 points.

Meanwhile, Insurance continued to make big gains as it added further 60.13 points to its tally and Finance today bounced back with 1.56 points.

Altogether there were trade of 109 scrips, among which 30 scrips gained, 12 scrips remained intact and 67scrips suffered loss.

The best performer among the traded scrips was Apex Development Bank Limited (APEX, closed at Rs 121, with a gain of Rs 11 or 10 percent. Whereas, Janata Bank Nepal Ltd. (JBNL) , closed at Rs 307, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 34 or 9.97 percent.

The scrips with the highest turnover in today’s trade was Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 354, with trading of 89,786 units worth Rs 32,161,318 via only 118 transactions.

The  Broker with the highest transaction of NBL was Broker no 17 (ABC Securities Pvt. Limited) with 8.37% standalone dealing of the NBL, tallying 15,097 units worth Rs 5,381,979 via 21 transactions which includes 2 matching transactions totaling 1,916 units worth Rs 682,282.

The total turnover of the market today stood at Rs 466,338,926 which was carried out through 3,093 transactions totaling 1,156,946 units. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 781,152.69 Millions.
