NEPSE WEEKLY WRAP UP (REVIEW PERIOD 12th MAY TO 16th MAY, 2013)

This week the secondary market of Nepal was in bullish mark as the index added 13.71 points to its tally to close at 499.99 levels. With the fizzle of the fear among investors regarding the oversupply of shares from the provision declared by the SEBON, the investors are once again starting to invest in the market. From the day SEBON announced regarding its new provision, the trade of promoter share has not increased enormously like speculated before resulting in the building of confidence among investors towards market in recent days.
Among the sub-indices this week, apart from Hotels sector loss of 5.85 points, all other remaining sectors landed in the green pasture. The sector with the highest gain was Insurance totaling 73.01 points. Likewise, Hydro and Other added 28.23 and 12.93 points respectively. Similarly, Banking increased by 14.89 points, Development gained 2.11 points and Finance surged by 1.32 points. As for Manufacturing, it incremented by 6.64 points.
The scrip with highest share traded this week was Nabil Balanced Fund-1(NBF1), closed at Rs 11.01, with 651,780 units. Likewise, Commerz And Trust Bank Nepal Limited (CTBNL), closed at Rs 149, had the highest transaction of 271 times. Similarly, Nabil Bank Limited (NABIL), closed at Rs 1750, had the highest turnover with Rs 35,228,000; in which Broker no 16 (Primo Securities Pvt. Limited) with 37.73% stand-alone dealing, tallying 15,728 units worth Rs 26,584,942 via 59 transactions which includes 6 matching transactions totaling 2,349 units worth Rs 3,963,896.
Altogether there were trades of 1,646,800 units of share belonging to 113 companies via 4,681 transactions worth Rs 337,160,000; the market capitalization at the end of the week stood at Rs 491,413.30 Millions.
