Nepse weekly update as of 17th - 21st June, 2012

This week Nepse index after slipping to lowest of 360.98 level since May, closed with upward momentum to add 0.47 or 0.12% point than the previous week closing to settle at 365.14 level. The highest level during review period was on Thursday with 365.14 points whereas lowest was on Sunday with 360.98 points. In comparison to previous week, the market saw a very high turnover which is astoundingly Rs 122,925,968 higher than the total turnover of earlier week .This shows that the investors are optimistic towards the market to improve in the near future.
In this week’s trading session Citizen Investment Trust was the Top Gainer with Rs 78 or 11.54% whereas Seti Bittiya Sanstha was the Top Loser with Rs 13 or 20.31%. All in all, with 130,398 units worth Rs. 117,445,793 via 1,928 transactions Everest Bank Limited (EBL) was the top performer in terms of highest traded share, transaction and turnover in overall week session; in which Broker No 8 (Ashutosh Brokerage & Securities Pvt. Limited) was most active broker with 38.42% stand alone dealing of EBL, amounting Rs 45,121,687 via 687 transactions of 50,070 units which includes matching of 1,300 units worth Rs 1,170,450.
Sectoral wise, Hydro sub indices was the top gainer with 15.49 or 2.65% points to close at 601.01 level followed by Banking with 2.37 or 0.72% points than earlier week closing level. Similarly, Development sector was the top loser with 2.82 or 1.14% to settle at 245.53 level followed by Other, Insurance, Hotel and Finance sectors with 0.86%, 0.65%, 0.16% and 0.14% loss respectively than previous week concluding level. All in all, Sensitive index decreased by 0.05 or 0.05% to settle at 93.24 while Float index gained by 0.09 or 0.31% point than preceding week closing level.
The total turnover made this week was Rs 291,031,001 with highest on Thursday with Rs 125,279,811 and lowest on Tuesday with Rs 39,203,914. Overall 925,521 units of shares were traded via 7,470 transactions which is also higher than prior week. The total market capitalization at the end of review period was Rs 344,860.2 millions.
