Nepse up by 3.72 points

With the end of this week’s trading session, Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) saw increase in trading volume, transaction and turnover compare to previous two days. With the Margin lending approval from Nepal Rastra Bank and positive response from the Commercial Banks, the investor’s sentiment towards market seems to be increasing. In overall day’s trade, Nepse reached highest of 380 level but couldn’t sustain the level, after gradual decrease the index traded between the range of 377 and 378 points to lastly close at 377.47 points, which is 1% higher than day before.
In today’s trading session, Manakamana Development Bank Limited, which closed at Rs 66, was the Top Gainer with Rs 5 or 8.2%. Whereas Purnima Bikash Bank Limited, which settled at Rs 128, was the Top Loser with Rs 12 or 8.57%. Likewise, Bank of Asia Nepal Limited topped the category of highest shares traded and transaction by means of 25,342 units and 109 transactions in today’s session. On the other hand, with 16,215 shares worth Rs 9,870,479 via 101 transactions Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) had the highest turnover; in which Broker No 50 (Crystal Kanchenjunga Securities Pvt. Ltd) was the most active broker with 43.90% stand alone dealing of BOK, amounting Rs 4,333,043 of 7,097 units via 41 transactions which includes matching worth Rs 121,700 of 200 units.
Except the Finance sector loss of 0.17 or 0.06%, all other sectors added points than prior day. Most points were added by Others sector, in which Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited weighs the most, by 11.74 or 2.13% points than preceding day to close at 563.96 level. Followed by Banking, Hotels, Hydro, Development and Insurance sectors with 0.96%, 0.76%, 0.68%, 0.31% and 0.11% points gain respectively. Sensitive index added 1.04 or 1.09% to settle at 96.96 points while Float index also gained 0.194 or 0.66% point than previous day’s closing level.
Total scrips traded for the day was 77 with 37 gainers and 27 losers with total turnover of Rs 63,115,378 which is comparatively Rs 21,160,640 higher than prior trading session. Overall 197,214 units of shares were traded via 1147 transactions with total market capitalization of Rs. 356,509.84 millions.
