NEPSE UP BY 0.38 POINTS

The positive development of the agreement between parties to clear the legal obstacle in the interim constitution to make way for the Chief Justice led government helped to boost the market in the initial phase by 3 points. But later with the increasing pressure of the selling the local bourse came below the opening level. However, the benchmark index in the end minutes of the trade bounce back to sustain in green pasture adding 0.38 points than prior closing to settle at 539.64 levels.

Among the sub-indices,  Hydro and Trading were the only sectors with loss of 11.02 and 2.53 points respectively. The double digit decline in hydro was mainly  because of the drop in the level of Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited  (AHPC), Butwal Power Co. Ltd.  (BPCL) and Chilime Hydro power Co.  (CHCL).

Whereas, propel in the level of Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN), Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL) and Siddhartha Insurance Limited (SIL) boosted the Insurance sector by 2.72 points. Likewise, surge in the level of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited uplifted the Others sector by 1.17 points. While, Hotels sector remained intact at 659.26 levels today.

As for the Banking and Financial Institutions sub-indices, Banking soar by 0.69 points followed by Development and Finance with 0.58 and 0.42 points respectively. In Banking, NABIL Bank Limited Promoter Share (NABILPO), Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB) and Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) were the only scrip with the double digit growth of Rs 20, Rs 16 and Rs 13 respectively.Under Development, the scrip of Bright Development Bank Ltd was listed with stock symbol BRTBL. W

Overall there were only 85 scrips traded among which 40 scrips increased 12 remained intact and 33     scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was, Siddhartha Insurance Limited (SIL), closed at Rs 243, with Rs  22 or 9.95% gain. Whereas, Everest Insurance Co. Ltd. (EIC), closed at Rs 355, was the highest loser with Rs 28 or 7.31%.

In terms of highest share trade and turnover, KIST Bank Limited (KIST), closed at Rs 149, topped with 105,785 units worth Rs 15,660,460 via 136 transactions; in which Broker no 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 58.36% stand alone dealing of KIST, tallying 61950 units worth Rs 9,139,900 via 50 transactions which includes 4 matching transaction totaling 5,200 units worth Rs 765,400.

Altogether 378,555 units of shares worth Rs 119,893,087 were traded via 1,419 transactions; the market capitalization at the end of the day was Rs 523,466.76 million.
