Sharesansar, 2nd July:  Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) after two days of consecutive loss in points, today it added 1.33 points to close at 374.25 level. It was only after first hour of trade, the benchmark index started gaining upward momentum. But it was a seesaw battle between bull and bear in the second hour of trade. Eventually Nepse rose up in the third hour to climb up by 0.36%.


According to Nepse, NMB Bank Limited, closed at Rs 191, was the Top Gainer with Rs 11 or 6.11%. Whereas Asian Life Insurance Co Ltd, settled at Rs 87, was the Top Loser with Rs 9 or 9.38%. Likewise, National Hydro Power Co. topped the category of highest shares traded by means of 20,970 units. On the other hand, Standard Chartered Bank Limited (SCB) toppled Everest Bank Limited (EBL) to top in terms of highest turnover and transaction with 8,194 shares worth Rs 13,965,790 via 83 transactions; in which Broker No 20 (Sipla Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 43.93% stand alone dealing of SCB, amounting Rs 6,135,490 of 3,600 units via 47 transactions.


Sectoral wise, out of nine sectors only seven sectors’ scrips were traded. Banking sector which declined yesterday, added 2.65 or 0.77% to close at 344.71 level. Similarly, Hydro and Finance were the other two gainers for the today with 0.32% and 0.07 % respectively. While Manufacturing sector remain still at 666.76 points. On the other side, Insurance suffered the highest loss of 1.43 or 0.30% points followed by Others and Development with 0.21% and 0.16% respectively. Likewise, Sensitive index rose by 0.39 or 0.41% to settle at 96.25 points while Float index also added 0.143 or 0.48% point to close at 29.65 points.

Total scrips traded for the day was 78 with 33 gainers and 28 losers with total turnover of Rs 42,028,014 which is comparatively Rs 6,447,409 or 13.30% lower than prior trading session. Overall 131,206 units of shares were traded via 814 transactions with total market capitalization of Rs. 353,466.66 millions.
