NEPSE TWO MONTHS LOW

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index continued its bear run today as well, losing another double digit figure of 13.55 points to settle at 754.99 points.
With this plunge, the benchmark index now has come to hover at two months lowest figure.
In the last three weeks, the local bourse index has dropped value in 11 of the 15 trading days. Though the index had climbed to 64-month high of 831.36 points on February 2, it has lost more than 76 points in the past three weeks.
Apart from Hotels gain of 4.97 points, all other remaining trading groups shed values today. The Insurance sector was the biggest loser of the day, as it tumbled 30.97 points. Close on the heels were the sub-indices of Hydro and Banking sub-indices which went down by 28.96 points and 15.03 points, respectively.
Similarly, Banking and Finance also shed by 8.13 points and 2.09 points respectively. As for Others, it stumbled by 14.09 points.
Altogether there were trade of 108 scrips, among which 14 scrips gained, 7 scrips remained intact and 85 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded scrips was Nepal Community Development Bank (NCDB), closed Rs 174, with a gain of Rs 9 or 5.45 percent. Whereas, Gaurishankar Development Bank Ltd. (GSDBL), closed at Rs 136, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 13 or 8.72 percent.
The company with the highest turnover in today’s session was Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC), closed at Rs 4550, with turnover of Rs 24,335,235, totaling 5,276 units which were traded through 17 transactions.
The Broker with the highest transaction of NLIC was Broker No 28 (Shree Krishna Securities Limited) with 87.42 percent standalone dealing, totaling 9,200 units worth Rs 42,550,000 via 2 matching transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 232,036,404, with total number of shares traded at 481,772 units which were traded through 2,101 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 769,370.00 Millions.
