NEPSE TURNS GREEN

Finally the benchmark index after six days of down fall, took a support to bounce back by 4.88 points; the market index today closed at 509.08 levels. Following the yesterday’s hefty fall of 9.48 points, big investors were in row to obtain the scrips in the lower level, lifting the local bourse up to the height of 514.88 levels but later in the session the drop in the level of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC), dragged the market index to today’s closing.
Similarly, the publication of sound third quarterly reports of the Banking and Financial Institutions also has provided a positive boost in investor sentiment for the better days ahead. Today , Everest Bank Limited (EBL), Muktinath Bikash Bank Ltd. (MNBBL) and Garima Bikash Bank Limted (GBBL) has publish the third quarter report with the profit of Rs 1034.33 million, Rs 72.46 million and 38.85 million respectively.
Altogether there were trade of eight sectors today, among which only Others sector made plunge of 5.88 points following the drop in NTC by Rs 5. While, Hydro sector made a huge surge of 14.58 points following the gain in the scrip of Chilime Hydro power Co (CHCL) by Rs 22. As for Trading, it increased by 0.16 points.
Similarly, Insurance also soared by 11.55 points whereas Hotels made gain of 0.37 points. Likewise, Banking and Financial Institutions sub-indices, Banking ascent by 8.31 points, Development jumped by 0.08 points and Finance inclined by 0.31 points. In other news related to banking and financial institutions, the merger process between Pashupati Development Bank Ltd. and Udhyam Development Bank Ltd. has been completed successfully with new company name Axis Development Bank Ltd. with stock symbol AXIS.
Overall there were trade of 78 scrips among which 48 scrips increased 8 remained intact and 22 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Prime Life Insurance Company Limited (PLIC), closed at Rs 28, with Rs 6 or 9.72% gain. Whereas, Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC), closed at Rs 1358, was the worst performer with Rs 836 or 38.10% loss following the price adjustment by Nepse of 70% bonus share and 56.31% cash dividend.
In case of the highest shares traded, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), closed at Rs 305, topped with 18,748 units. In terms of highest turnover, Nepal SBI Bank Limited (SBI), closed at Rs 847, topped with 13,849 units worth Rs 11,762,246 via 39 transactions; in which Broker no 35 (Kohinoor Investment and Securities Pvt.Ltd) was the most active Broker with 46.79% stand alone dealing of SBI, tallying 6,460 units worth Rs 5,503,300 via 3 transactions which includes 2 matching transactions totaling 4,000 units worth Rs 3,400,000.
Altogether there were trades of 192,910 units of shares via 1,022 transactions worth Rs 77,891,754; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 496,317.38 Millions
