NEPSE Trips Down 52.41 Points; Microfinance is the Only Sector Standing, Finance Takes a Hard Hit

The NEPSE index lost 52.41 points today and closed at 2,969.69. The index opened at 2,989.55 and made the intraday high at 3,030.43. However, it lost in intraday session today, going as low as 2,943.95. Nonetheless, it ultimately closed at 2,969.69. This market activity has led to the formation of what seems like a star candlestick formation on the candlestick chart.
28,289,128 shares traded hands via 167,938 transactions. The trading of 219 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 15.48 Arba.
While the float index lost 3.19 points and closed at 205.75, the Sensitive index is at 541.70 after losing 8.56 points.
Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 60.89 crores.
Only CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) has technically closed at the upper limit of 10% intraday gain today. CHDC is a rookie stock, given that its shares were listed last month after a successful IPO.
On the other side of things, Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL) lost the most 9.99%.
Only the Microfinance sector gained 2.63% today. Among all other sectors that lost, Finance took the hardest hit, losing 6.8%.
