NEPSE TRIMS EARLY GAIN ON PROFIT-BOOKING, STILL UP 4.51 POINTS

The benchmark index breach 900 level earlier today but pared gains on profit-booking to end with a slim 4.51 points rise at a fresh closing peak of 899.53 level.
Nepal Stock Exchange had opened on strong note with banking sub-index touching double digit growth in the early trade on heavy buying by investors. The Nepse index at one point had made gain of nearly 13 points to hover at 907 level.
However, reversing the trend the local bourse fell over 7 points in the late afternoon trade largely on emergence of profit-booking in recent gainers.
Brokers said investors were booking profits after the market breached over 900 level and adopted a cautious stance.
This was its fourth successive positive closing. The gauge had gained nearly 16 points in the previous three days.
The sub-indices which helped Nepse to close in the positive territory were Banking, Development and Finance with gain of 8.61 points, 1.36 points and 1.28 points respectively.
While, Hotels, Hydro and Insurance suffered the loss of 16.82 points, 13.52 points and 3.23 points respectively.
As for Trading, Manufacturing and Others, all these sectors remained intact to its previous closing levels.
All in all, the scrips of 140 companies were traded today, out of which 82 scrips gained, 16 remained intact and 43 scrips lost.
The best performer for the day was, Neco Insurance Co. (NIL), closed at Rs 364, with Rs 33 or 9.97 percent gain. Whereas, Nepal Insurance Co.Ltd. (NICL), closed at Rs 576, was the worst performer among shares with Rs 34 or 5.57 percent loss.
In terms of turnover, Civil Bank Limited (CBL), closed at Rs 274, had the highest turnover today. Altogether, 158,633 share units of CBL were traded through 217 transactions worth Rs 42,722,886.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the CHCL was Broker No 42 (Sani Securities Co. Ltd.) with 28.99 percent totaling 46,322 shares trade amounting Rs 24,772,998 via 31 transactions, which include two matching transactions tallying 31,000 share units worth Rs 8,246,000.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 620,570,670, with total number of shares traded at 1,720,847 units which were traded through 3,981 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 917,584.28 Millions.
