NEPSE TRADE BELOW YESTERDAY’S CLOSING

For the entire day today Nepse traded below the yesterday’s closing of 541.19 points. The local bourse today started its trade from 540 levels which is more than one point low of prior day’s closing and continued to do so till 3:00 PM today. The volatility in the market today also remained within the three point range and showed a little sign of rallying up. The market index at the end closed at 538.45 levels suffering 2.74 point loss.
Among the sub-indices, Hotels moved up by 0.56 points following the increment in the value of the Taragaon Regency Hotel (TRH). Likewise, the surge in the price of the Diprox Development Bank (DDBL) by Rs 10 mainly helped the Development sector to sustain in green pasture as it increased by 0.07 points. Also, the trade of Civic Dev. Bank Ltd started from today with stock symbol ‘CIVIC’; the scrip had only one transaction of 10 units at the price level of Rs 300 today. Similarly, Finance sector also merely made it on the green area as it incline by only 0.57 points whereas Others sector made a surge of 1.18 points.
While, Hydro and Insurance plunged by 8.29 and 6.45 points respectively. The fall in Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC), National LifeInsu. Co. Ltd. (NLICL) and Nepal Insurance Co. Ltd. (NICL) by Rs 30, Rs11 and Rs 10 mainly contributed to the insurance sector downfall whereas, the descent in the price of Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 13 and Rs 6 further pushed the Hydro sector south today.
In the same manner, Banking sector also suffered a loss of 4.36 points following the decrease in the level of Himalayan Bank Ltd. (HBL), Grand Bank Nepal Ltd. (GRAND), Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL), Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB) and Nepal SBI Bank Limited Ltd (NSBI) by double digits. Likewise, the drop in the value of Bishal Bazaar Co. Ltd. (BBCL) by Rs 30 resulted in the plummet of Trading by 2.53 points.
Overall there were trade of 86 scrips among which 29 scrips increased 14 remained intact and 43 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was, Machhachapuchhre Bank Limited Promotor Share (MBLPO), closed at Rs 97, with Rs 7 or 7.78% gain. Among the ordinary shares trading above par value, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme-1 (SIGS), closed at Rs 12.53, was the highest gainer with Rs 0.48 or 3.98%. Whereas, Lumbini General Insurance (LGIL), closed at Rs 107, was the highest loser with Rs 8 or 6.96% loss.
In terms of highest share traded and turnover, Nepal Bangladesh Bank (NBB), closed at Rs 345, today also topped with 85,583 share units worth Rs 29,503,303 via 171 transactions; in which Broker no 16 (Primo Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 20.14% stand alone dealing of NBB, tallying 17,249 units worth Rs 5,942,982 via 28 transactions which includes 1 matching transactions of 5000 units worth Rs 1,700,000.
Altogether 398,506 units of shares were traded by 1,378 transactions worth Rs 128,347,085; the market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 524,091.63 million.
