Nepse to remain closed today due to Chhath; momentum in  market expected from tomorrow

Due to Chhath festival, there will be no trading in the stock exchange today. Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) will remain closed due to the public holiday for Chhath festival. The stock market will reopen tomorrow.

Nepse benchmark index has gone down 1.93 points or 0.21 percent on the third day of trading after the Tihar holidays, to close at 933.08 level yesterday.

Stock analysts believe that the market, which has remained relatively sluggish due to the festive season including Dashain and Tihar for past few weeks, will regain the momentum once the market opens after Chhath festival.  

The average daily trading has declined in recent weeks while the market is also observing minor up and down in the movements of the benchmark index as the festive mood has gripped the investors.
