NEPSE to Remain Closed on Sunday, Government Declares Public Holiday on The Occasion of Bakra Eid

The government has decided to grant a public holiday across the country on Sunday, Ashad 26. As per the recommendation of the Muslim Committee, the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to grant a nationwide public holiday on the occasion of Bakra Eid*. As such, NEPSE will also remain closed on Sunday.

*This festival, which commemorates the sacrifice of livestock in whatsoever quantity a person may afford, is the second most significant holiday for Muslims. The names Bakra Eid, Bakrid, Eid al-Adha, Eid Qurban, and Qurban Bayarami are also used to refer to this day.
