Nepse targeting UP

After trading below the opening level for more than hour of trade, the benchmark index, Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse), came to trade in the green pasture adding 0.68 or 0.16% point at the end of the day. With today’s gain, the index has come much closer to 427.9 level set on 1st October. The past movement of Nepse shows that after a surge of couple of points, it backtracks for correction and again bounces back to go further up. So, with the current bounce, the local bourse is all eyeing towards the 427.9 level and even further. The market today closed at 427.3 level.

There were transactions of altogether seven sectors; the highest gainer was Hydro sector with 9.56 points. The climb in Hydro sector came with the rise in the price of Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) and Chilime Hydro Power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 3 and 14 respectively. Along with Hydro, Banking , Hotels and Development also added 2.39, 0.38 and 2.02 points respectively.

In Banking, altogether there were 22 scrips traded under it in which the rises in the price of 12 scrips help the sector to climb. The scrips that added the most in Banking were Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), Himalayan Bank Ltd. (HBL) and Everest Bank Ltd (EBL). Similarly, in Development, the incline in Clean Energy Development Bank Limited (CEDBL) and H & B Development Bank Ltd. (HBDL) by Rs 8 in both scrips helped the sector to tackle the loss in 10 scrips under it. 

As for the fallers, Insurance sector backtracked the most by 14.52 points. The fall was due to the drop in the price of Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN) and Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) by Rs 69 and 49 respectively. Similarly, Others and Finance sector also tumbled by 5.87 and 0.13 points respectively. Under Finance sector, Kaski Finance Ltd (KFL) eariler proposal of 10.53% cash dividend has been approved by NRB, the scrip came to close at Rs 110.

Today among 84 scrips traded, 39 scrips increased, 11 remain intact and 34 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Premier Insurance co. Ltd.  (PIC), closed at Rs 163, with Rs 14 or 9.40%. Whereas,   Reliable Finance Limited (RIBSL) closed at Rs 126, was the Top Loser with Rs 24 or 16%.

In terms of highest share traded and turnover, Siddhartha Bank Limited (SBL), closed at Rs 291, topped with 39,514 units worth Rs 11,670,233 via 24 transactions; in which Broker no 25 (Sweta Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 88.51% stand alone dealing of SBL, totaling 34,896 units worth Rs 10,329,251 via 2 transactions which includes one matching transaction of 34,861 units worth Rs 10,318,856.

The total turnover today was 43,462,622 which is comparatively Rs 8,321,299 or 23.68% higher than prior trading session. Overall 155,640 units of shares were traded via 1,167 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 404,627.98 Millions.
