NEPSE SUSTAINS 5.4 POINTS GAIN

After series of downfall, the stock market of Nepal today finally inclined as the local bourse surged by 5.4 points to close at 774.91 levels.

With the boost in the demand of banking and Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited shares, the market today overcame from its decreasing transition to upward direction.

The stock market today witnessed improvement in the performance of banking sector as it added 5.1 points to its tally. Following the recent drop in the price level of banking scrips, the high demand in this sector’s shares were observed today.

In addition, the healthy demand in the NTC shares helped to further contribute in today’s growth. With the jump of 19.96 points in Others sector, the local bourse today got much needed mileage to settle in green terrain.

Similarly, continuing its bullish fortune, the Development and Finance sector increased by 5.14 and 0.31 points respectively. While, Hydro followed with decline of 15.49 points and, Insurance and Hotels also suffered loss of 9.11 and 3.32 points respectively.

All in all, the 111 scrips were traded, out of which 59 scrips gained, 16 remained intact and 36 scrips lost.

The best performers for the day was, Nirdhan Utthan Bank Ltd. (NUBL), closed at Rs 1023, with Rs 93 or 10 percent gain. Whereas, Professional Diyalo Bikas Bank Ltd. (PRDBL), closed at Rs 490, was the top loser with Rs 13 or 9.42.

The share with the highest turnover this week was, NIC Asia Bank Ltd. (NICA), closed at Rs 779, with 18,976 units worth Rs 14,553,486 which were carried by 121 transactions.

Overall, 665,989 units of share were traded by, 2,416 transactions worth Rs 213,539,702; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 788,323.87 million.
