NEPSE SUSTAIN MEAGER GAIN

With the dilution in the investors’ excitement, the market today observed more stable and less volatile trading. The stock index coming to the end of the day came to sustain gain of 1.13 points to close at 649.12 levels.
Like that of the prior days, the explosive trading was not observed in today’s session. From the beginning to end, the NEPSE index observed scanty movements compared to prior days.
Despite its less aggressive movement, the benchmark index today reached the height of approx 654 levels which is more than 5 points higher than yesterday’s closing. However, in the later hours, the profit booking limited the growth of local bourse to 0.17 percent.
As for the movement of sub-indices, Hotels suffered the loss of 1.89 points along two of the banking sub-indices i.e. Banking and Finance. Banking dropped by 1.28 points whereas Finance declined by 1.7 points.
While, Insurance maintained its rally with the incline of 45.64 points followed by Hydro with a leap of 6.5 points and Development with advance of 4.09 points. Meanwhile, Others remained intact at 751.9 levels.
Altogether there were trade of 103 scrips, among which 70 scrips gained, 13 scrips remained intact and 20 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded scrips was Asian Life Insurance Co. Limited (ALICL), closed at Rs 639, with a gain of Rs 58 or 9.98 percent whereas the worst performer was Prabhu Bikas Bank Limited (PRBBL), closed at Rs 14202, with loss of Rs 17 or 7.76 percent.
The scrip with the highest turnover today also was Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 264, with 74797 units Rs 19,507,176 which was carried through 135 transactions.
The Broker with the highest transaction of NBL was Broker no 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) with 10.78% standalone dealing of the NBL, tallying 16,036 units worth Rs 4,205,860 via 10 transactions which includes 1matching transaction totaling 5000 units worth Rs 1,315,000.
Meanwhile, the total turnover of the market today decreased to Rs 275,573,189 which was carried out through 2,746 transactions totaling 748,952 units. The market capitalization at the end stood at Rs 658,561.91 Millions.
CIVIL BANK PROPOSES 5.75 PERCENT CASH DIVIDEND
Civil Bank Limited which is currently suspended from the trading because of the merger process with Civil Merchant Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Axis Development Bank Limited, today has proposed to distribute 5.75 percent cash dividend to its shareholders.
The Bank’s 135th BOD meeting came to conclusion to provide the mentioned cash dividend to its shareholders from the earning of last fiscal year 2069/70.
However, the proposal of dividend will only be materialized after the final approval from the Nepal Rastra Bank and the company’s upcoming Annual General Meeting.
