Nepse sustain above 426 level

Nepal Stock Exchange today also continued its correction as it came down by meager 0.44 or 0.1% point. With the fall in the overall turnover by 12.55% as compared to yesterday, the market saw a very low movement. Though the increase in the price of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) from Rs 655 to Rs 668 at the last minutes of the trade uplifted the market by more than one point, the decline in the same scrip back to Rs 655 in the next transaction dragged the Nepse to 426.13 level.

The price movement of NTC has been very volatile in recent days. In spite the scrip jump to Rs 668, the fall in the last trade made it only possible to add Rs 5 in its tally to close at Rs 655 which helped the Other sector to add 21.14 points. Similarly, Finance was another sector which was able to grow by 0.18 point. Apart from these two sectors, all other sectors tumbled today.

Banking and Development declined by 0.93 and 0.41 point respectively. Under Banking, the drop in the price of Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), Himalayan Bank Ltd.(HBL), Everest Bank Limited Convertible Preference (EBLCP) & Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) by Rs 22, Rs 15,Rs 10 and Rs 2 respectively mainly pulled the sector down. Whereas in Development, Garima Bikas Bank Limited (GBBL) and Diprox Development Bank (DDBL) decline by Rs 14 and Rs 7 along with other 7 companies decline pushed the sector down.

Similarly, Insurance and Hotels plummeted by 7.12 and 0.38 points respectively. In Insurance, the decline came with the heavy loss in Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN) by Rs 55. As for Hydror sector, it had the highest decline in the sub-indices by 21.13 points. The fall in Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) and Chilime Hydro Power Co by Rs 20 and Rs 21 respectively mainly caused the heavy drop.

Overall there were 99 scrips traded among which 37 scrips increased, 13 remain intact and 49 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Neco Insurance Co. (NIL), closed at Rs 128, with Rs 9 or 7.56%. Whereas, Garima Bikas Bank Limited (GBBL), closed at Rs 148, was the Top Loser with Rs 14 or 8.75%.

In terms of highest share traded, KIST Bank Limited (KIST), closed at Rs 114, topped with 28,330 units. As for turnover, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), closed at Rs 1130, topped with 6,909 units worth Rs 7,794,664 via 51 transactions; in which Broker no 10 (Pragyan Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 36.19% stand alone dealing of EBL, totaling 2,500 units worth Rs 2,820,900 via 12 transactions in which 2 were matching transactions of 1,000 units worth Rs 1,127,000.

The total turnover today was 62,329,083 which is comparatively Rs 8,940,897 lower than prior trading session. Overall 213,619 units of shares were traded via 1,350 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 403,563.74 Millions.
