NEPSE Surpasses 2,100 Levels With 3.03% Gain; Records Highest Turnover In Over 5 and Half Months

The NEPSE index had a strong performance today, closing at 2,117.73. This represented an impressive gain of 62.21 points from the previous trading day's closing. In percentage terms, the index increased by 3.03%. It is worth noting that this closing value is the highest the NEPSE has reached in almost four and half months, indicating a positive trend in the market. The last time the index was at a similar level was on February 12, 2023, when it closed at 2,121.86. This recent surge in the NEPSE index indicates positive momentum in the Nepalese stock market.

Today the index opened at 2,057.37 which is also the intraday low. In contrast, it went as high as 2,119.80 and ultimately closed at 2,117.73.

275 scrips traded hands via 90,249 transactions. A total of 14,751,247 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 6.49 Arba in turnover amount. Today's turnover represents the highest value in the NEPSE index in approximately five and a half months. The previous highest turnover was recorded on January 10, 2023, when the turnover amount reached Rs 7.65 Arba.

SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) shares traded the most and had the highest turnover of Rs. 49.9 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 605.90 per share.

Seven scrips hit the positive circuit for today.

Conversely, Shuvam Power Limited (SPL) lost the highest 6.81% today.

All sector indices closed green, "Life Insurance" gained the highest 7.79% while "Banking" gained the least 1.06% today.
