NEPSE SURGES BY 9.04 POINTS; HYDRO SCRIPS WITNESS MASSIVE TURNOVER

With the nearing quarter end, the market sentiment is gradually picking its pace up. Followed by the strong buying sentiment in the market today, the benchmark index surged its way up by 9.04 points. The market index today closed at 792.19 level.

As the selling pressure has eased off in the recent days, the market in current scenario is recouping its way up. Attributed by such factor, many investors and traders who were idle in prior days is now entering in the market for better future reap which has promotes the Nepse index in recent days.

The increasing participation not only has set positive vive for Nepse index but also has incremented the turnover. The turnover that use to hover near to average of Rs 220 million or so today came to stand at astounding figure of Rs 371,644,450. In market today, 887,891 units of shares were traded through 2,809 transactions.

The boost in the turnover mainly came from the transaction of hydro scrips as Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) and National Hydro Power Co. (NHPC) together had turnover worth more than Rs 123 million today.

Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), which closed at Rs 1800, had the highest turnover among the traded scrips today. Overall, 37,259 units of CHCL were traded through 245 transactions worth Rs 67,045,284.

The Broker with the highest transaction of CHCL was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 11.39 percent standalone dealing, totaling 8,498 units worth Rs 15,276,876 via 40 selling transactions.

National Hydro Power Co. (NHPC), which closed at Rs 150 with gain of Rs 12 or 8.7 percent, had the second highest turnover with share trade of 387,895 units through 274 transactions worth Rs  56,027,525.

Following such impressive trading in above shares, the hydro sub-index today made growth of 44.57 points. Similarly, the healthy transactions of insurance scrips propelled the sector index by triple digit figure of 130.32 points.

Likewise, Hotels also witnessed astounding incline figure of 96.01 points. Similarly, Banking added 2.59 points, Development increased by 3.19 points and Finance soar by 6.86 points.

As for Others, it remained intact at 773.05 level.

Altogether there were trade of 128 scrips, among which 76 scrips gained, 19 scrips remained intact and 33 scrips suffered loss.

The best performer among the traded ordinary scrips was Oriental Hotel Ltd. (OHL), closed Rs 627, with a gain of Rs 57 or 10 percent. Whereas, Nepal Insurance Co.Ltd. (NICL), closed at Rs 751, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 41 or 5.18 percent.
