NEPSE SURGE BY 9.41 POINTS; TURNOVER WORTH MORE THAN RS 500 MILLION

Attributed by an upbeat performance in the banking scrips, the stock index today came to witness surge of 9.41 points. Last time, the secondary market experienced such a mammoth leap was back in the beginning of this month. With today’s gain, the market breached 860 mark to settle at 861.47 level.
With the nearing of fiscal year closing, the investors are now lured towards banking scrips in expectation of handsome return from current earning in next fiscal year. In addition to it, the lack of progress in banking scrips have also attracted investors towards this sector’s scrips as it relatively under priced compared to other sectors’ scrip.
Fuelled by such sentiment, among the 29 banking scrips, 19 scrips increased, four scrips remained intact and five scrips decreased. Contributed by such outcome, the banking sector today rallied by 8.63 points. Similarly, Development and Finance also added 4.89 points and 2.94 points respectively.
Among others, Hydro made massive surge of 115.62 points-thanks to Rs 137 increase in Chilime Hydro Power Co. Ltd. Likewise, Hotels, incremented by 24.81 points and Manufacturing advanced by 38.81 points.
While, Insurance decreased by 25.77 points and Others dropped by 2.35 points.
All in all, the scrips of 137 companies were traded, out of which 86 scrips gained, 18 remained intact and 33 scrips lost.
The best performer for the day was, Matribhumi Bikas Bank Limited (MTBL), closed at Rs 169, with Rs 15 or 9.74% gain. Whereas, the worst performer was, Kasthamandap Development Bank Ltd. (KDBL), closed at Rs 112, with Rs 9 or 7.74% loss.
The scrip with the highest trading among the shares traded in general platform was National LifeInsu. Co.Ltd. (NLICL) which closed at Rs 3150. Altogether, 38,987 units of shares were traded through 202 transactions worth Rs 122,551,910.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the NLICL was Broker No 38 (Dipshikha Dhitopatra Karobar Co. Pvt. Ltd.) with 11.53 percent totaling 9,049 shares trade amounting Rs 28,266,853 via 44 transactions which include three matching transaction totaling 1,449 units worth Rs 4,496,909.
In addition to NLICL, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) and Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL) also observed massive trading of shares worth more than Rs 50 million. Further, six scrips too witnessed turnover worth more than Rs 10 million today.
Formulated by healthy performance, the market turnover today surpassed Rs 500 million to tally at Rs 543.08 million. Altogether, 967,014 shares were traded through 3053 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 878,787.95 Millions.
