NEPSE SURGE BY 3.05 POINTS; SHL’S TURNOVER ABOVE RS 100 MILLION MARK

Nepal Stock Exchange, the only stock market of Nepal, today inclined by 3.05 points to settle at 852.68 level.
Owing to the increase in the demand of Others and Banking sectors’ scrips, two of the heavy weight sectors of Nepse, the benchmark index sustain a positive closing today.
Among the 27 traded banking scrips, 17 scrips were better off today while two remained intact. Similarly, Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited added Rs 6 to its tally to close at Rs 661.
Attributed by such upbeat performance, Banking came to increase by 2.63 points and Others rallied by 7.05 points.
Along with above stated sectors, Insurance sub-index too made a comeback today. The sub-group today inclined by 37.82 points, which was the highest among the sub indices. Likewise, Development also gained 3.27 points by the end of today’s trade.
While, Hydro suffered a loss of 9.93 points followed by Finance with a decline of 1.98 points and Manufacturing with a decrease of 0.31 point.
Hotels, which has been experiencing hefty incline in recent days, today dropped by massive 35.66 points.
Meanwhile, Soaltee Hotel Ltd., one of the scrips listed under hotel sector, made a hefty transaction worth Rs 133.50 million, which was the highest turnover among the traded scrips. Altogether 272,362 units of SHL’s share were traded through eight transactions today.
The Broker with the highest transaction of SHL was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 35.01 percent standalone dealing, totaling 191,181 units worth Rs 93,501,319 via 10 transactions, which include three matching transactions tallying 55,000 units worth Rs 26,725,000.
Contributed by such a mammoth turnover of SHL, the overall market turnover also got boost today. The market turnover today stood at Rs 458,659,076 up from Rs 316,438,370 of yesterday’s figure.
Similarly, the numbers of share traded totaled to 1,114,100 units up from prior day’s figure of 781,202 units whereas transaction dropped to 2,415 times from 2,671 times.
Altogether there were trade of 134 scrips, among which 66 scrips gained, 20 scrips remained intact and 48 scrips suffered loss.
Bhrikuti Vikash Bank Limited (BBBL), closed at Rs 233, was the top performer today with gain of Rs 21 or 9.91 percent whereas Lumbini General Insurance (LGIL), closed at Rs 423, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 42 or 9.03 percent.
