NEPSE SURGE BY 1.55 POINTS

After plunging by more than 17 points in the last two days, the benchmark index Nepse today made a climb of 1.55 points to close at 532.12 levels. The market index following the opening below the yesterday’s closing level, traded in the red pasture for the most part of the first hour. Then with the increasing buying pressure in the Banking scrips the local bourse made up to 534 levels before coming to settle at today’s closing.
The Banking sector was able to climb by 3.74 points today following the gain in the levels of mainly Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIBL), NABIL Bank Limited Promotor Share (NABILPO), Himalayan Bank Ltd. (HBL), Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL), Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB) and Everest Bank Ltd (EBL). Similarly, Finance was also able to soar by 0.28 points whereas Development plummeted by 0.76 points.
Likewise, Others also descent today by 4.7 points following the drop in the value of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 4. Similarly, the decline in the level of Chilime Hydro Power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 5 dragged the Hydro sector down by 1.09 points. While, propel in the level of Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL) and National LifeInsu. Co. Ltd. (NLICL) by Rs 13 and Rs 10 uplifted the Insurance sector by 2.81 points.
Overall there were trade of 89 scrips among which only 43 scrips increased 12 remained intact and 34 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was, Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL), closed at Rs 188, with Rs 13 or 7.43% gain. Whereas the highest loser of the day was, Nepal Express Finance Limited (NEFL), closed at Rs 91, with Rs 12 or 11.65% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded, H & B Development Bank Ltd. (HBDL), closed at Rs 61, topped with 76,481 units whereas among the shares trading over par value, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), closed at Rs 332, topped with 59,910 units. Similarly, the NBB also had the highest turnover today amounting Rs 19,854,550; in which Broker no 28 (Shree Krishna Securities Limited) was the most active Broker with 36.22% stand alone dealing of NBB, tallying 21,625 units worth Rs 7,192,250 via 31 selling transactions.
The turnover today stood around Rs 115,926,610 which is higher by Rs 26,296,010 or 29.33% than prior day’s trade. Overall 425,568 units of shares were traded via 1,333 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 516,490.78 million at the end of the day.
