NEPSE SURGE 5.3 POINTS

The secondary market of Nepal, Nepse, today also made a gain of 5.3 points to close at 519 levels following the incline in the Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited and Banking scrips. With today’s gain the local bourse, which had been in correction phase since 17th February, after reaching 555.93 levels, has made a continuous gain for two consecutive days which was not seen in the market since 14th March, 2013.

In Banking, the increment in the scrips of NABIL Bank Limited Promoter Share (NABILPO), Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBI), Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), Sunrise Bank Limited by double digit mainly helped to propel  sector by 7.34 points and market as well. Similarly, the jump in the Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 4 also complemented in the market growth and uplifted the Others sector by 4.7 points.

Likewise, Development, Insurance and Hydro were the other sector that supported in the market growth as well with 1.21, 0.72 and 15.02 point gain respectively. In Hydro, the soar in the price of Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 26 mainly boosted the sector today.

While, the decrease in the value of Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL)  by Rs 5 dragged the Hotels sector further down by 6.61 points. Likewise, the plummet in the levels of Citizen Investment Trust  (CIT), Shrijana Finance (Bittiya Sa) (SFFIL) by Rs 10 each pulled the Finance sector down by 0.35 points.

Overall there were trade of 82 scrips among which only 47 scrips increased 13 remained intact and 22 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was, Clean Energy Development Bank Limited (CEDBL), closed at Rs 157, with Rs 9 or 6.08% gain. Whereas the highest loser of the day was Purnima Bikas Bank Limited (PURBL), closed at Rs 78, with Rs 7 or 8.24% loss. Among the scrips trading above the par, Shrijana Finance (Bittiya Sa) (SFFIL), closed at  Rs 120, was the top loser with Rs 10 or 7.69% loss.

In case of the highest shares traded and turnover, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), closed at Rs 323, topped with 50,383 units worth Rs 16,006,921 via 43 transactions.; in which Broker no 10 (Pragyan Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 61.88% stand alone dealing of NBB, tallying 31,330 units worth Rs 9,905,280 via 2 transactions in which one was matching transaction of 30,330 units worth Rs 9,584,280.

Altogether 232,867 units of shares were traded via 1,086 transactions worth Rs 79,378,211; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 503,900.65 Millions.
