NEPSE started new fiscal year with Green Light; inclined 32.42 points or 2.38% to close 1394.77 levels; turnover stood Rs 104.1 crores

First Trading Day of Fiscal Year 2077/ 78 closes green; NEPSE at 1,394.77 after 32.42 points incline with Rs 104 crores turnover

NEPSE closed at 1,394.77 today after gaining 32.42 points from yesterday's close. This concludes the first trading day for the fiscal year 2077/ 78.

NEPSE had successfully crossed the 1350 - 1360 level yesterday which technical analysts had long established as the resistance level. Now, this level was established as support and 1460 as the new ceiling/ resistance.

The breakout in the last trading day for the last fiscal year yesterday was a joyous occasion for many. This might be why investors must have entered the market today with new enthusiasm because the market showed a strong bullish trend today.

As a matter of fact, NEPSE closed near the highest level for the day, making today's chart look like a steep incline.

Today's close is a significant 2.38% uptick from yesterday's session. Overall 33.20 points volatility was witnessed in the trading today, wherein the highest level was 1395.82 and the lowest was 1362.62.

A total of 2,914,518 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 1,041,770,867 in the turnover amount.

180 scrips were traded via 16,545 transactions.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) had the highest turnover of Rs. 9.41 crore closing at a market price of Rs. 521 per share. It is tailed by NMB Bank Limited (NMB) in terms of total turnover with a figure of about Rs. 8.27 crore.

NMB Bank Limited also had the highest number of shares that exchanged hands with a total of 201,806 shares.

Float is up by 2.56 points and is currently at 98.02. Similarly, the Sensitive Index is currently at 295.06 after gaining 6.81 points from the previous close.

NIC Asia Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NICLBSL) hit the 6th consecutive 10% positive circuit today. 

On the other hand, Oriental Hotel Limited (OHL) lost the most 6.38% while closing at Rs. 308 LTP.

Interestingly, all the sectors gained today, with Banking and Development Bank leading by a massive 3.56% and 3.51% gain.
