Nepse stands at 327 points
KATHMANDU, OCT 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) did not see much action in the week preceding Tihar and remained almost immovable at 327 points.
This week -October 23 to 25, Nepse index lost 0.2 points as the investors did not indulge much in transaction on pre-Tihar festivities. This week Nepse witnessed 460,444 unit shares changing hands through 3988 transactions in the three trading days. This is almost 200 per cent decline in trading volume as compared to that of last week when bulk transactions of two hydropower companies -National Hydroppower and Chilime Hydropower had increased the transaction amount way over Rs 180 million.
On Sunday morning the stock market opened at 328.19 points that went a down to 326.42 points by the end of the day’s trading but touched 327.39 points before closing down for week before Tihar holidays.
The sensitive index that measures performance of Class ‘A’ companies went down by 0.86 points reaching 80.02 points on the week’s trading. The float index moved down by 0.09 points to 26.94 points. This week, except for banking and finance subgroups rest of the subgroups ended up gaining few points.
