NEPSE Spirals Down 29.71 Points Closing at 2,126.48 With Market Capitalization of Rs. 3.12 Trillion

In today's trading session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,126.48 points, as the index plunged a further 29.71 points or 1.37% compared to the previous day's closing. Even yesterday the index experienced a decline of 8.11 points.

The session started with the index opening at 2,155.49 and made its intraday high at 2,165.97. Throughout the trading session, it demonstrated downward momentum, reaching an intraday low of 2,124.32, before settling at its closing value of 2,126.48.

During today's trading, a total of 271 scrips were exchanged through 44,672 transactions, with a substantial volume of shares traded amounting to 6,271,777, representing a turnover of Rs. 2.42 Arba. The Float index lost 1.31% and currently stands at 147.32, while the Sensitive index also saw a decrease of 1.28% and now sits at 403.84.

The market capitalization stood at Rs. 3.12 Trillion whereas the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 1.105 Trillion.

Among the stocks, SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) recorded the highest turnover, with an impressive amount of Rs. 10.57 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 615. The shares of KBL traded the most.

Notably, NIC Asia Flexi CAP Fund (NICFC) recorded the highest gain of 7.39% for the day.

On the other hand, Kisan Lagubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (KLBSL) sees the highest decline of 8.68%.

In terms of sector indices, all sector indices closed in red, the "Trading" sector registered the highest loss of 2.65% whereas the "Banking" sector lost the least, declining by 0.99%.
