NEPSE SLUMPS BY 5.72 POINTS; PROFTI BOOKING CONTINUES FOR 3RD DAY

Nepse, the prime index of Nepal Stock Market, continued its downslide today also, making it three day on a row. The cautions approach by the traders after recent seven days rally dropped the market index by 5.72 points to 926.50 level.
The profit taking in most of Banking and Others scrips triggered the downfall from start of today’s session.
Both the heavyweight sub-indices by the end of the day came to settle 6.78 points and 15.27 points below than yesterday’s closing level.
Following above sectors, Hotels, Development and Hydro also suffered loss of 6.99 points, 1.06 points and 16.31 points respectively.
While the scrips of Insurance, Trading, Finance and Manufacturing were in demand as settled higher than yesterday. Insurance added 12.71 points, Trading climbed 3.04 points, Finance gained 4.51 points and Manufacturing made meager increment of 0.46 point.
All in all, the scrips of 137 companies were traded, out of which 39 scrips gained, 16 remained intact and 82 scrips lost.
The best performer for the day was, Neco Insurance Co. (NIL), closed at Rs 564, with Rs 51 or 9.94 percent gain. Whereas, Pokhara Finance Ltd. (PFLC), closed at Rs 218, was the worst performer today with Rs 12 or 5.22 percent loss.
In terms of turnover, Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at 359, topped the category as the news of bank selling a plot of land for Rs 50 crore to Insurance Board triggered massive demand.
The regulatory body of the insurance companies has reportedly bought 9 ropanis and 14 annas of land of the asset-based bank at Kupandole yesterday to build the Insurance Academy there.
Altogether, 107,448 share units of NBL were traded through 140 transactions worth Rs 38,790,924.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the NBL was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 22.45 percent totaling 48,237 shares trade amounting Rs 17,414,560 via 45 transactions, which includes four matching transactions tallying 10833 units worth Rs 3,901,592.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 503,792,914, with total number of shares traded at 3,111,667 units which were traded through 3,161 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 945,154.25 Millions.
