NEPSE SKIDS BELOW 800 LEVEL

In turn of event, the market index today suffered loss of 3.15 points. The benchmark index, which observed more than 17 points rally in prior week, today witnessed downfall throughout the session. Coming to the end of the day, the Nepse index fell below 800 mark to close at 797.43 level.
Capitalizing on the last week’s performance of the listed companies, the traders were found booking their profit in today’s session.
Most of the traders were found profit booking on hydro and banking shares, which in previous week had witness spectacular growth. Among the five traded hydro scrips today, four settled in red zone. Similarly, 17 banking scrips suffered loss today among the 27 traded banking scrips.
Attributed by the high decline to incline ratio, both the sector experienced downfall today. Banking plunged by 4.24 points and Hydro plummeted by 34.51 points.
Alongside above sectors, Others and Development were two other sub-indices to suffer decline of 5.88 points and 0.55 point respectively.
While, Insurance sector continued with its rally as it propelled by 28.04 points further today. Similarly, Hotels and Finance followed with increment of 13.31 points and 0.73 point respectively.
Altogether there were trade of 128 scrips, among which 46 scrips gained, 17 scrips remained intact and 65 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded shares was Naya Nepal Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (NNLB), closed Rs 587, with a gain of Rs 53 or 9.93 percent. Whereas, Malika Bikash Bank Limited (MDBL), closed at Rs 166, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 18 or 9.78 percent.
Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC), which closed at Rs 5210, had the highest turnover among the traded scrips today. Overall, 10,885 units of CHCL were traded through 47 transactions worth Rs 55,698,648.
The Broker with the highest transaction of NLIC was Broker No 49 (Online Securities Pvt. Ltd) with 70.17 percent standalone dealing, totaling 15,300 units worth Rs 78,169,000 via seven transactions, which include three matching transaction of 7,600 units worth Rs 38,832,000.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 270,828,871, with total number of shares traded at 481,443 units which were traded through 2,051 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 812,934.13 Millions.
