NEPSE SETTLE WITH MEAGER GAIN OF 0.17 POINTS

The secondary market after observing several ups and downs comes to settle at green terrain with a meager gain of 0.17 points.
Contrary to smooth sailing of yesterday, the market transition today took a bump. From the beginning to end, the stock index went through a roller coaster ride of several ups and downs.
Though the market looked as if it would plunge to the red terrain, it stood its ground at the end minutes to settle above the yesterday’s closing level. The NEPSE index today closed at 782.37 levels.
Among sub-indices, Banking sector witnessed a downfall of 2.53 levels. Similarly, Hydro and Finance also suffered a loss of 1.42 and 0.58 points respectively.
Meanwhile, Insurance continued its bull run as it today also added 25.89 points to its tally. Alongside it, Hotels also made a healthy recovery of 23.91 points. Likewise, Development added 6.78 points and Trading gained 1.86 points. As for Others, it remained intact at 783.62 levels.
Altogether there were trade of 114 scrips, among which 53 scrips gained, 14 scrips remained intact and 47 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded scrips was Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIC), closed at Rs 1166, with a gain of Rs 106 or 10 percent. Whereas, Clean Energy Development Bank Limited (CEDBL), closed at Rs 270, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 15 or 5.26 percent.
The scrips with the highest turnover in today’s trade was Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), closed at Rs 621, with trading of 54,706 units worth Rs 34,109,399 via only 120 transactions.
The total turnover of the market today stood at Rs 294,432,657, totaling 613,843 share units which were traded through 2,134 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at 794,749.68 Millions.
