NEPSE SETS NEW HIGH

Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse), today cruise passed the 430 level to create a new high of 433.16 level .Before this the highest level Nepse reached this year was 432.82 on 8th May, 2012. Overall the local bourse added 5.86 points in its tally today.The news of Siddhartha Capital receiving green signal from Securities Board of Nepal to launch 400 million worth mutual fund scheme in the market has helped to boost up the investors’ sentiment which is reflected by today’s surge in the market. The Siddhartha Capital is planning to bring the scheme to market only after Tihar and plans to increase the scheme up to 500 million if there is over subscription in the market. This news has help the Siddhartha Bank Limited (SBL) to make surge in its price level as Siddhartha Capital is one of its subsidiary company.
Apart from the Finance and Hotel sector loss of 0.09 and 0.38 point, all other sector had positive impact from the news. The highest gainer in the sector was Other sector with 15.27 points. The incline in the Other sector came with the rise in the scrip of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 13. Likewise, Hydro sector also added 14.64 points. The main contribution came from the Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) as both scrip jumped by Rs 24 and Rs 10 respectively.
Similarly, two of the Banking and Financial Institutions sub-indices, Banking and Development climbed by 5.59 and 0.81 points respectively. In Baking, among the 24 scrips traded, there were only two decliners. The rise in the SCB, EBL, MBL, HBL and SBL mainly boosted the sector up. As for Insurance, the sector increased by 3.86 points as the jump in the price of Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) and Sagarmatha Insurance Co.Ltd (SIL) helped in the sector growth.
Today also the Nepse suspended the 8 of listed companies from further transactions as the companies haven’t paid the annual listing renewal fee to Nepse. The companies are Paschimanchal Finance Co. Ltd. (PFC), Himalayan Finance Ltd. (HFL), Shree Bhrikuti Pulp and Paper Ltd. (SBPP), Purwanchal Gramen Bikash Bank Ltd. (PGBL), Biratlaxmi Bikash Bank Ltd. (BLDBL), Multipurpose Finance Co. Ltd. (MFL), Pokhara Finance Ltd. (PFL) and Gorakhakali Rubber Udhyog Ltd. (GRU).
Whereas ,the Trading of Metro Development Bank Ltd and Pacific Development Bank Ltd. started from today with Symbol METRO and PADBL respectively. The scrip METRO, closed at Rs 163, traded between the range of Rs 175 to Rs 163 and the scrip PADBL only at one price level of Rs 115.
Overall there were 83 scrips traded among which 52 scrips increased, 14 remain intact and 17 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Machhachapuchhre Bank Ltd (MBL),closed at Rs 182, with Rs 14 or 8.33%. Whereas, NCM Mutual Fund (NCMMF), closed at Rs 25.36, was the Top Loser with Rs 2 or 5.90%.
In terms of highest share traded among general shares, Janata Bank Nepal Ltd. (JBNL) , closed at Rs 131, topped with 16,609 units. As for turnover, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), closed at Rs 1160, topped with 6,699 units worth Rs 7,744,042 via 56 transactions; in which Broker no 7 (J.F. Securities Company Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 30.99% stand alone dealing of EBL, totaling 2,072 units worth Rs 2,400,086 via 16 transactions which includes one matching transaction of 50 units worth Rs 58,000.
The total turnover today was 38,099,771 which is comparatively Rs 5,362,851 or 12.33% lower than prior trading session. Overall 156,288 units of shares were traded via 879 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 410,178.97 Million.
