NEPSE Sees Single-Digit Loss to Settle at 2,163.92 Levels; Market Capitalization At Rs. 3.17 Trillion

The NEPSE index closed at 2,163.92 today after losing 1.31 points from yesterday's closing. This is a minimal loss of 0.06% on the index. The index gained 11.17 points yesterday.

264 scrips traded hands via 54,954 transactions. The Float index is at 150.04 after losing 0.13% while the Sensitive index gained 0.01% and is now at 410.52. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 3.17 Trillion whereas the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 1.12 Trillion.

SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) had the highest turnover of Rs. 14.23 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 635 per share. The shares of KBL traded the most.

Two scrips gained 10% each, hence hitting the positive circuit breaker. Meanwhile, two mutual funds lost all they could for the day.

 

Five sectors gained and all others closed red. While "Mutual Funds" lost the highest 1.21%, "Trading" gained the highest 6.35%.

Technical Analysis Highlight

The index opened at 2,165.7 and created an intraday high at 2,177.76. While it went as low as 2,153.16, it ultimately closed at 2,163.92. Hence, it can be seen that the market tested the resistance zone at 2,177.76 and failed to close above it for the time being. Whether the index will break above or bounce back from this zone relies on upcoming market sessions.

Furthermore, a total of 8,424,108 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 3.05 Arba in the turnover amount. This is a little lower than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 3.34 Arba.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 66.41. The reading was at 66.73 yesterday. Meanwhile, the MACD line has crossed higher from the zero line, with the MACD reading at 36.97. This is an optimistic indication. The MACD reading was at 35.40 yesterday.
