Nepse See-Saw continues

Nepal Stock Exchange today also followed the yesterday’s trend. The market index which opened below the prior day’s closing of 407.89 was all over the area as the index zigzag its way in green as well as in red pasture. The see-saw movement in the benchmark index was mainly due to the volatility in the scrips of Banking sector. Before the end of the day’s session, Nepse was trading in the green terrain but the fall in the Banking sector at the end dragged the Nepse down by 0.26 point to close at 407.63 mark.
In Banking sector, the drop in the price of big banks like Nabil, EBL, HBL and SCB along with other 7 companies pulled the Banking sub-indices down by 0.19% points. Similarly, the fall in the price of Uniliver Nepal Ltd’s scrip which is the highest priced stock in the Nepse, by Rs 130 dragged the Manufacturing sector by 0.88%.Among other down fallers were Others and Hydro sectors with 0.52% and 0.35% points respectively.
Whereas, Insurance today also stood tall among the rest of the sub-indices as it added 3.73% in its tally. The main contributor was Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. and Life Insurance Co. Nepal. Similarly in Hotels, the raise in the Soaltee Hotel Ltd. uplifted the sub-index by 1.01%. Likewise, increase in 8 scrips among 17 scrips traded today helped to push the Finance sector up by 0.7% point. Similarly, Development sector also went by 0.02% point as the gains in 10 scrips outweighed the loss of 19 scrips.
Other news regarding market today was Kabeli Bikas Bank Limited has proposed to give 10% bonus share but there was no impact upon its share as it closed intact at Rs 133. Simlarly, First Microfinance Development Bank Ltd. has proposed 15.79% cash dividend to its shareholders, in spite of this the scrip was the highest loser for the day as it decreased by Rs 18 to close at 162. Other declaration was of Prabhu Finance Ltd of 17% Bonus Share which market seems to have taken positively as the scrip increased by Rs 11 to Rs 160.
Likewise in case of the gainer and losers news for the day, among the 97 scrips traded 38 scrips increased, 14 remain intact and 45 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Hama Merchant & Finance Ltd. (HAMA), closed at Rs 66, with Rs6 or 10% and it also had the highest transaction of 160 times. Among the stock trading above the par value, Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC), closed at Rs 1212, was the Top gainer with Rs 110 or 9.98%.
In case of highest share traded, Kailash Bikas Bank Ltd., closed at Rs 185, topped with 23,923 units. In case of turnover, today also Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), close at Rs 1,098, topped the category. Overall, 6,932 units worth Rs 7,610,730 via 78 transactions were done of CHCL; in which Broker no 19 (Nepal Investment & Securities Trading Pvt. Ltd) was the most active broker with 23.09% stand alone dealing of CHCL , totaling 1,600 units worth Rs 1,757,400 via 2 transactions.
The total turnover today was 55,261,992 which is comparatively Rs 6,252,886 or 10.16% lower than prior trading session. Overall 188,647 units of shares were traded via 1434 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 385,748.20 Millions.
