Nepse rises only to fall; gains just 0.47 points, turnover drops to Rs 25.5 crore

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (Nepse) posted additional a nominal gain of 0.47 points or 0.05 percent to close at 923.59 level today.

For the third day in a row, the market has ended in green zone after a sluggish start immediately after the Dashain holidays. Though the Nepse index had climbed as high as 931.12 toward the middle way into the trading today, it shed points in the second half of the trading hours.

As yesterday, the Insurance group was the one of spur the market. It gained 32.34 points. The hydropower was the other group that posted similar gain of 32.02 points today. The Hotels and Development Bank were the others groups to end in the green zone with 12.95 and 0.52 points respectively.

The Banking group, which covers around 80 percent of the total market cap, shed 2.43 points, finance lost 2.99 points and the Manufacturing group lost 5.03 points. The others group remained constant today.

The market turnover, which surged to Rs 29.18 crore yesterday, slightly dropped to Rs 25.58 crore today.
