NEPSE RESIST 520.71 LEVEL

The market index today resisted the yesterday closing level of 520.71 levels. After the opening of trade below the yesterday’s closing, the local bourse made several attempt to breach the 520.71 level within the first two hours of trading but failed to do so. And in the last hour, with the fall in the level of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC), the benchmark plunged near to 517 level and didn’t succeed to bounce back to previous height as the Nepse index closed at 518.77 levels suffering loss of 1.94 points.

The fall in NTC by Rs 12 not only affected the Nepse level but also dragged the Others sector down by 14.1 points. Similarly, decrease in the level of Uniliver Nepal Ltd. (UNL) by Rs 188 pushed the Manufacturing sector down by 9.75 points. Likewise, plummet in the price of Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIL), Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd. (SICL) and Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL) by Rs 20, Rs 21 and Rs 40 pulled the Insurance sector down by 2.42 points.

Also, Hotels, Finance and Development also descent by 0.94, 1.10 and 0.21 points respectively. Whereas, Banking maintained its position in green pasture as it surge by 0.09 points. The growth in  Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), Everest Bank Limited Convertible Preference (EBLCP) and NABIL Bank Limited Promoter Share (NABILPO) mainly helped to sustain the banking index in the northern horizon today. As for Hydro, it gained 8 points following the ascend in the value of Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 16.

Overall there were trades of 77 scrips among which only 24 scrips increased 11 remained intact and 42 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was, Guras Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (GLICL), closed at Rs 150, with Rs 8 or 5.63% gain. Whereas the highest loser of the day was, Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL), closed at Rs 155, with Rs 42 or 21.32% loss; the decline in the scrip was mainly because of the price adjustment of proposed 14.25% bonus share.

In case of the highest shares traded, Civil Bank Ltd (CBL), closed at Rs 159, topped with 26,692 units. In case of  turnover, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), closed at Rs 323, topped with 26,108 units worth Rs 8,444,850 via 56 transactions.; in which Broker no 45 (Imperial Securities Co .Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 38.13% stand alone dealing of NBB, tallying 10,000 units worth Rs 3,235,500 via 15 selling transactions.

The total turnover today was 77,594,174 which is comparatively Rs 9,757,031 or 14.38% higher than prior trading session. Overall 192,219 units of shares were traded via 1,057 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 503,672.77 Millions.
