Nepse Resist 415 level

Nepal Stock Exchange today though made a valiant effort to cross 415 level several times both couldn’t succeed as the benchmark index came down to 413 level. But at the end of the session the improvement in the NTC, largest capital based company , by Rs 4 and in Chilime Hydro Power Co by Rs 6 aided the local bourse to narrow its lost by meager 0.64 points. At the end of the market, the benchmark index came to settle at 414.53 level.
As it was the last day before the book closure of CHCL, there was high demand of the scrip today as it added Rs 13 to close at Rs 1,145. It covered 35.72% of total market turnover today, making it highest turnover. Overall 30,478 units of CHCL were traded via 411 transaction amounting 34,783,724; in which Broker no 28 (Shree Krishna Securities Limited) had highest stand alone dealing of CHCL of 18.77%, totaling 5,722 units worth Rs 6,529,560 via 40 transactions in which 1 was matching transaction of 294 units worth Rs 335,160.
Though there was loss in the scrips of Arun Valley and Butwal Power, the gain in CHCL outweighed the loss helping the Hydro sector to jump by 4.82 or 0.58% points. Similarly, the rise in the scrips of Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd and Life Insurance Co. Nepal by Rs 44 and Rs 22 respectively supported the Insurance sector to grow by 0.8 or 0.12%. Whereas in Finance, the incline in Citizen Investment Trust by Rs 29 aided the sector to surge by 0.32 or 0.12% points. As for Other sector, it inclined by 7.05 or 1.02% points.
Among the sub-indices related to Banking and Financial Institutions , Banking and Development today plummeted by 2.86 or 0.79% and 1.4 or 0.56% points respectively. In Banking , the fall in the scrip of SCB Nabil, BOK, Nepal SBI mainly contributed in the sector loss whereas in Development the decrease in Kanchan Development Bank Ltd., Chhimek Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited, Nerude Laghubita Bikas Bank Limited and City Development Bank Limited mainly helped in the downfall of Development sector.
Overall there were 90 scrips traded among which 20 scrips increased, 12 remain intact and 58 scrips decreased. The highest loser for the day was Kanchan Development Bank Ltd. (KADBL), closed at Rs 181, with Rs 15or 7.65%. Whereas, Machhachapuchhre Bank Ltd (MBL), closed at Rs 140, was the Top Gainer with Rs 12 or 9.38%.In case of highest traded share, KIST Bank Limited (KIST), closed at Rs 114, topped with 68,770 units.
The total turnover today was 94,761,479 which is comparatively Rs 28,991,366 or 22.95% lower than prior trading session. Overall 268,184 units of shares were traded via 1,641 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 392,291.55 Millions.
