ShareSansar, 14th November

Despite of the high selling pressure in the market, the local bourse by the end of the day came to sustain in green terrain with a meager gain of 0.35 points.

With the investors opting to capitalize their profit from the recent surge, the secondary market today traded in red zone for most part of the session. However, citing the resumption of NEPSE trading only post election, the buying pressure started to build in late minutes which outweighed the selling pressure and helped the local bourse to bounce back to green zone. The NEPSE index today closed at 600.42 levels.

Alongside recover of NEPSE in green zone, the secondary market also witnessed yet another spectacular rise in the share transactions. Crossing one more threshold, the turnover of the market today stood near to four times higher than that of the average turnover of the market.

Making a mammoth increment of 54.09 percent compared to yesterday’s figure, the market turnover today came to total at Rs 464,337,172 which was carried out through 3,003 transactions totaling 2,312,108 units. This is the first time in NEPSE history that the market transaction worth above Rs 300 million has been carried out in back to back trading days in the normal trading window.

The increase in today’s turnover was mainly attributed by the transactions of Surya Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Promoter Share (SLICLP), as a big chuck of 953,986 unit shares were traded through 15 transactions worth Rs 104,938,460.

Along with SLICLP, there were other nine scrips which had turnover over Rs 10 million. Among them, Nepal Bank Limited had the highest amount worth Rs 42,065,927 which was carried out through 170 transactions totaling 200,113 units.

The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the NBL was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 24.92%; totaling 99,829 units worth Rs 20,960,857 which was carried out by 44 transactions—includes one matching transaction of 4,620 units worth Rs 933,240.

Similarly, Machhachapuchhre Bank Ltd (MBL), Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL), Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), Mega Bank Limited (MEGA), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), Rural Microfinance Development Centre Ltd. (RMDC), Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) and National Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Promoter Share (NLICLP) were the remaining shares with turnover over Rs 10 million.

The increasing transactions of the ordinary shares in such impressive numbers are very much a good sign for the upcoming days in the market.

As for the movement of sub-indices, Others today made hefty recover of 8.22 points following yesterday’s fall. Similarly, Hotels also sustained gain of 6.39 points alongside 0.99 points growth of Development and 2.12 points leap of Insurance.

While, Banking came to suffer loss of 1.36 points followed by Finance and Hydro with plunge of 0.37 and 1.06 points respectively. Meanwhile, Manufacturing remained intact at 934.25 levels.

All in all, 99 scrips were traded, out of which 49 scrips gained, 16 remained intact and 34 scrips lost.

Pacific Development Bank Limited (PADBL), closed at 176, and Surya Life Insurance Company Limited (SLICL) were the best performers among the traded scrips, as both inclined by 10 percent each i.e. Rs 16 and Rs 28 respectively. Whereas, Himalayan Gen. Insu. Co. Ltd. (HGI), closed at 345, was the worst performer with Rs 13 or 3.63 percent loss.
