NEPSE REBOUNCE

Nepal Stock Exchange today renounced by 9.91 points to close at 518.27 points; the growth made today was highest after the 26th December, 2012 movement of 10.84 points. With the publication of healthy second quarter report of Bank of Kathmandu of Rs 302.68 million, the investors had a different outlook towards the Banking sector today which also positively complemented among the rest of the sectors; as a result the market index from the beginning of the trade was in the green pasture and continued to do so till the end of the day. The retracement by the Nepse today has brought some sight of relief and optimism towards the upcoming days.
Among the sub-indices, only the Finance sector suffered the loss of 0.91 points; the plummet in the price of the Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) by Rs 28 mainly dragged the sector down. Whereas, Banking and Hydro which had highest plunge yesterday today incremented by 13.33 and 15.47 points respectively. The increase in the price of Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 25 mainly helped the Hydro sector to bounce back. Likewise, soar in the value of Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL), Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) by more than 20 mainly contributed to its growth.
As for Development, it inclined by 1.97 points as the jump in the price of Nerude Laghubita Bikas Bank Limited (NLBBL) by Rs 15 along with another 11 scrips helped to sustain the sector in positive zone. Similarly, the boost in the level of Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC), Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SICL) and National LifeInsu. Co. Ltd. (NLICL) by Rs 35, Rs 15 and Rs 10 respectively pushed the sector up by 7.58 points. While, Hotels and Others rose by 0.75 and 10.57 points respectively.
Overall there were 74 scrips traded among which 54 scrip increased, 6 remain intact and 14 scrip decreased. The highest gainer of the day was Infrastructure Development Bank Ltd. (IDBL), closed at Rs 74, with Rs 6 or 58.82%. Among the shares trading over par value, Lumbini Bank Ltd. (LBL), closed at Rs 260, was the highest gainer with Rs 18 or 7.44%. Whereas ManjuShree Financial Institution (MFIIL), closed at Rs 136, was the highest loser with Rs 11 or 7.48%.
In case of highest share traded, Kailash Bikas Bank Ltd. (KBBL), closed at Rs 180, topped with 10,000 units. In terms of highest turnover, Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), closed at Rs 674, topped with 9,856 units worth Rs 6,598,425 via 66 transactions; in which Broker No 35 (Kohinoor Investment and Securities Pvt.Ltd) was the most active broker with 21.04% stand alone dealing of BOK, tallying 2,060 units worth Rs 1,388,100 via 5 transactions which includes 1 matching transaction of 1,000 units worth Rs 679,000.
Altogether today 156,352 shares were traded via 1,040 transactions worth Rs 54,820,119 and the market capitalization at the end of the day stood at 499,292.97Millions.
