NEPSE REACTS POSITIVE TOWARDS UCPN-M CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS

With the announcement of Unified CPN Maoist party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to bring a formula to end the current political stalemate in the country, created a positive hope among the investors today as the market index surge by 5.09 points to close at 515.97 levels. Addressing the party’s seventh national convention in Hetauda, Dahal assured that the party will come up with a solution that will help to end the current political deadlock in the country. Most of the investors have taken this address as a positive indication, that some type of agreement will be reached within the parties to end the rising conflict among parties and build way for the national consensus government.
There were altogether trades of eight sectors today, among which Hotels and Insurance plummeted by 12.07 and 1.35 points. Following the drop in the level of Oriental Hotel Ltd. (OHL) and Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL) by Rs 4 and Rs 8, the Hotels sector came down by such huge points. Whereas, the fall in the value of Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN) by Rs 46 mainly dragged the Insurance sector down.
While, increase in the price of Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 11 and Rs 20 respectively pushed the Hydro sector further north by 13.9 points. Similarly, the increment in Uniliver Nepal Ltd. (UNL) boosted the Manufacturing sector up by 5.19 points. Whereas, Others sector remain intact at 763.65 level.
As for the Banking and Financial Institutions, Banking made climb of 7.26 points following the double digit rise in the level of Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL), Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), Laxmi Bank Limited (LBL), Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), Siddhartha Bank Limited (SBL) and Himalayan Bank Ltd. (HBL).Similarly, Development and Finance surged by 1.5 and 0.36 points respectively.
Overall there were 81 scrips traded among which 53 scrips increased, 14 remained intact and 14 scrips decreased. The highest loser for the day was, Union Finance Ltd. (UFL), closed at Rs 90, with Rs 6 or 6.25% loss. In case of shares trading above par value, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme-1 (SIGS1), closed at Rs 11.71, was the highest loser with Rs 1 or 5.41%.
Whereas, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), which has posted second quarter net profit of Rs 171.70 million with growth rate of 157.08%, made it one of the attractive stock of the day; the scrip gained Rs 23 or 10% to close at Rs 255, making it the highest gainer of the day. And also the scrip topped the category of highest share trade and turnover with 73,625 units worth Rs 18,341,705 via 116 transactions; in which Broker No 10 (Pragyan Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 38.12% stand alone dealing of NBB, tallying 27,930 units worth Rs 6,992,430 via 35 buying transactions.
The turnover today stood around Rs 102,790,626 which is higher by Rs 28,221,175 or 37.85% than prior day’s trade. Overall 304,196 units of shares were traded via 1,100 transactions with the market capitalization at Rs 496,993.89 million at the end of the day.
