NEPSE RALLIED UP WITH HEALTHY TRANSACTION

Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) today rallied up by 4.02 points to close at 517.87 levels. Apart from the initial few minutes of the trading , the benchmark index sustained  in the green pasture for the rest of the hour. The turnover of the market today also rose up as it stood around Rs 153 million which is  around Rs 19 million or 13.93% higher than yesterday’s trade. The numbers of shares traded also took a giant leap as it totaled around 502,179 units; this is 48% higher than prior day trade. The total transaction done today was 1,694 times and market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 497,055.20 Millions.

The scrip of Uniliver Nepal Ltd. (UNL) today also made a jump in its level as the stock incremented by Rs 265; with today’s incline the scrip cross the ten thousand mark to close at Rs 10,080 per unit and help to boost the Manufacturing sector by 13.75 points. Similarly, the increase in the price of Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) and Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) by Rs 13 and Rs 4 contributed in the growth of the Hydro sector by 1.95 points. Likewise, Others sector also soared by 1.17 points.

As for Banking, Development and Finance, all of the three sub-indices related to Banking and Financial Institutions, rallied up by 5.8, 0.6 and 3.31 points respectively. Under Banking, the gain in the scrip of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), Machhachapuchhre Bank Ltd (MBL), Kumari Bank Ltd (KBL) and Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBI) mainly supported in Banking sector growth. Whereas in Finance, the jump in Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) by Rs 114 mainly contributed to its enhancement.

While,  Hotels and Insurance declined by 6.99 and 0.28 points respectively. The fall in Hotels was mainly because of the plummet in the level of Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL) by Rs 5. Whereas, the dip in the price of Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIC) and Guras Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (GLICL) by Rs 14 and Rs 1 respectively contributed to Insurance’s downfall.

Overall there were 78 scrips traded among which 41 scrips increased, 10 remain intact and 27 scrips decreased. The highest loser  for the day was Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), closed at Rs 818, with Rs 122 or 12.98% loss; the loss was mainly because of the price amended by the Nepse to adjust the 25% bonus share declared by the company. In terms of highest share traded, Janata Bank Nepal Ltd. (JBL), closed at Rs 172, topped with 74,541 units.

In terms of top gainer, Machhachapuchhre Bank Ltd (MBL), closed at Rs 220, topped with Rs 20 or 10% gain and it also had  the highest turnover with 74,290 units worth Rs 15,139,935 via 91 transactions; in which Broker No 20 (Sipla Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 54.53% stand alone dealing of MBL, tallying 42,106 units worth Rs 8,255,768 via 2 transactions which includes one matching transaction of 41,970 units worth Rs 8,226,120.
