NEPSE PUSH FURTHER UP

After the yesterday’s movement of ups and downs, today market made a steady growth of 6.03 points. With the indication from the President not to further extend the deadline to the political parties to form a consensus government, a sense of optimism have prevail among the investors’ regarding a solution from the President to the current political deadlock of the country. The today’s movement further pushed the index near to the three years high; the market index today closed at 525.67 leve.

Today also Banking sector uplifted further up as it added hefty 9.32 points in its tally; the increase in the scrips of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBI), Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), NMB Bank Ltd. (NMB), Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) along with increment in other 17 scrips helped the sector to go further up. Similarly, increase in Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL ) by Rs 8 and Rs 4 today also boosted the Hydro sector by 3.22 points. Whereas, the incline in Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 4 contributed in the Others sector jump of 4.7 points. Likewise, Insurance sector also went up as it added 0.61 points.

While two of the Banking and Financial Institutions sector i.e. Development and Finance sector came down by 0.94 and 0.02 points respectively. Under Development, the proposed 5.263% cash dividend of Jyoti Bikash Bank Ltd. was cancelled by NRB as the company’s financial status did not meet as per the NRB directives. Despite the news, the price of the scrip today added Rs 5 in its tally; this clearly shows the growing confidence of the investors in the secondary market of Nepal.

Overall there were 79 scrips traded among which 45 scrips increased, 6 remain intact and 28 scrips decreased. The highest gainer of the day was Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 609, with Rs 75 or 14.04% gain. Whereas, Nepal Consumer Development Bank Ltd. (NCDBL), closed at Rs 131, was the highest loser with Rs 14 or 9.66%. 

In case of highest share traded, Machhachapuchhre Bank Ltd (MBL), closed at Rs 254, topped with 51,895 units. In terms of highest turnover, Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), closed at Rs 689, topped with 19,788 units worth Rs 13,609,347 via 112 transactions; in which Broker No 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 13.39% stand alone dealing of BOK, tallying 2,652 units worth Rs 1,822,530 via 11 transactions which includes 2 matching transaction of 625 units worth Rs 428,750.

The total turnover for the day was Rs 150,364,835 which is greater by Rs 13,447,122 or 9.8% than the prior day’s trade; altogether 442,521 shares were trade via 1,789 transactions and the market capitalization at the end of the day stood at 506,408.51 Millions.
