ShareSansar, October 1:

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) posted a net profit of Rs 9 crore in the past fiscal year of 2069/70 — 95 percent increment compared to the previous fiscal year.

The only stock market of the country had earned a net profit of Rs 4.62 crore in the fiscal year 2068/69.

NEPSE could make a significant progress after the share market started to recover over the year as not only the indices of the listed companies but also the trade volume improved.

NEPSE gets a chunk of its earning as 25 percent commission it gets from the share trading. It had earned Rs 12 crore as commission in the last fiscal year as the daily market capitalization more than doubled.

NEPSE’s profit also shows that the share market is on an upward trajectory.

Though the average daily transaction at the NEPSE trading floor stood at only Rs 4 crore in the fiscal year 2068/69, it surged to Rs 10 crore in the last fiscal year.

The other sources of income for NEPSE include the fee for membership renewal and the listing charge.
